Dan Gagliardo’s story is one of hard work, dedication, and the entrepreneurial spirit that fuels progress. A lifelong problem solver and business owner, built his career from the ground up, starting with his company, Five West Enterprises, a cable installation business in Buffalo. But his journey didn’t stop there—his vision and drive led him to co-found D’Avolio, a thriving brand of olive oil and vinegar shops and restaurants that has become a beloved staple in Western New York.
Government is nothing new to Dan, he has a proven record working in the government sector he carries a Master of Public Administration from Canisius University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Dan and his wife, Stacy, are not just life partners but business partners, working side by side to grow their ventures. Their journey has been marked by resilience, navigating challenges like the economic downturn and the COVID-19 pandemic while keeping their businesses strong. Dan’s leadership has always been guided by fiscal responsibility, ensuring that every decision is made with long-term success in mind—a principle he now wants to bring to Amherst town government.
Beyond business, Dan is a devoted family man. He is the proud father of three grown daughters and a grandfather to six. In 2018, Dan and Stacy welcomed their daughter, Sabrina. Whether playing chess, drawing Disney characters, or taking drum lessons, Sabrina’s energy keeps them on their toes and fuels their passion for creating a brighter future.
Dan believes in community-first leadership, rooted in transparency, accountability, and respect for all residents. His goal as Amherst Town Supervisor is to bring back trust in local government, ensure responsible financial management, and make sure every resident—regardless of background or political affiliation—has a seat at the table. Just as he has built businesses with integrity and perseverance, he is ready to do the same for the town of Amherst.
